TECHNICIAN
POSITION OVERVIEW
THE DEEP SPACE OPERATIONS DIVISION REQUIRES A CERTIFIED HYPERSLEEP SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN TO SERVICE, MAINTAIN, AND MONITOR CRYOGENIC HYPERSLEEP CHAMBERS ACROSS THE W-Y DEEP SPACE FLEET AND GATEWAY STATION ORBITAL PLATFORM. HYPERSLEEP TECHNOLOGY IS THE FOUNDATION OF ALL INTERSTELLAR TRANSIT — EVERY CREW MEMBER WHO TRAVELS BEYOND THE INNER COLONIES PLACES THEIR LIFE IN THE HANDS OF THESE SYSTEMS AND THE TECHNICIANS WHO MAINTAIN THEM. THIS IS A LIFE-CRITICAL ROLE WITH ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ERROR.
TECHNICIANS IN THIS ROLE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COMPLETE LIFECYCLE OF HYPERSLEEP CHAMBER OPERATIONS: PRE-TRANSIT SYSTEM VERIFICATION, OCCUPANT PREPARATION AND INDUCTION MONITORING, CONTINUOUS TELEMETRY OVERSIGHT DURING MULTI-MONTH TRANSITS, AND SAFE REVIVAL PROCEDURES UPON ARRIVAL. ASSIGNMENTS ROTATE BETWEEN GATEWAY STATION — THE PRIMARY HUB FOR ALL DEEP SPACE DEPARTURES — AND FLEET VESSELS INCLUDING COMMERCIAL HAULERS, MILITARY TRANSPORTS, AND SURVEY SHIPS. CANDIDATES SHOULD BE COMFORTABLE WITH EXTENDED PERIODS ABOARD SHIP AND MUST BE WILLING TO ENTER HYPERSLEEP THEMSELVES FOR REPOSITIONING TRANSITS BETWEEN ASSIGNMENTS.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- PERFORM SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE AND CALIBRATION ON TYPE-7 AND TYPE-9 HYPERSLEEP CHAMBERS INCLUDING CRYOGENIC FLUID EXCHANGE, BIOSENSOR ARRAY TESTING, AND LIFE SUPPORT INTERFACE VERIFICATION
- MONITOR REAL-TIME LIFE-SIGN TELEMETRY FOR ALL OCCUPANTS DURING DEEP SPACE TRANSIT, RESPONDING TO ANOMALIES WITHIN ESTABLISHED RESPONSE PROTOCOLS
- EXECUTE EMERGENCY REVIVAL PROCEDURES IN THE EVENT OF SYSTEM MALFUNCTION, SHIP EMERGENCY, OR MEDICAL CRISIS — MAINTAINING OCCUPANT SAFETY AS THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
- MANAGE CRYOGENIC FLUID INVENTORIES INCLUDING LIQUID NITROGEN, PROPRIETARY W-Y CRYOPROTECTANT COMPOUNDS, AND METABOLIC SUSPENSION AGENTS
- CONDUCT PRE-TRANSIT OCCUPANT BRIEFINGS AND MEDICAL SCREENING IN COORDINATION WITH SHIPBOARD MEDICAL PERSONNEL
- MAINTAIN DETAILED MAINTENANCE LOGS, INCIDENT REPORTS, AND COMPLIANCE DOCUMENTATION PER ICC DEEP SPACE TRANSIT REGULATION 14-A
- TROUBLESHOOT AND REPAIR ELECTRONIC CONTROL SYSTEMS, THERMAL REGULATION CIRCUITS, AND PNEUMATIC SEAL ASSEMBLIES ON HYPERSLEEP UNITS
- COORDINATE WITH SHIPBOARD ENGINEERING ON POWER DISTRIBUTION, ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROLS, AND EMERGENCY BACKUP SYSTEMS FOR THE HYPERSLEEP BAY
REQUIREMENTS
- BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING, CRYOGENICS, OR CLOSELY RELATED FIELD (MANDATORY)
- MINIMUM 3 YEARS HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE WITH CRYOGENIC SYSTEMS — MEDICAL, INDUSTRIAL, OR AEROSPACE APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED
- W-Y HYPERSLEEP SYSTEMS CERTIFICATION (HSC) OR WILLINGNESS TO COMPLETE 12-WEEK CERTIFICATION PROGRAM PRIOR TO ASSIGNMENT
- PROFICIENCY IN ELECTRONIC DIAGNOSTICS, CIRCUIT ANALYSIS, AND CONTROL SYSTEMS TROUBLESHOOTING
- CLASS 3 SPACEFLIGHT MEDICAL CLEARANCE WITH DOCUMENTED HYPERSLEEP TOLERANCE — MINIMUM 2 PRIOR HYPERSLEEP CYCLES WITHOUT ADVERSE REACTION
- DEMONSTRATED CALM UNDER PRESSURE — THIS ROLE REQUIRES CRITICAL DECISION-MAKING DURING LIFE-THREATENING SYSTEM FAILURES
- FAMILIARITY WITH ICC DEEP SPACE TRANSIT REGULATIONS AND W-Y CORPORATE SAFETY STANDARDS FOR LIFE-CRITICAL SYSTEMS
- WILLINGNESS TO ACCEPT 18-MONTH DEPLOYMENT CYCLES WITH EXTENDED PERIODS ABOARD SHIP
